Virtual reality in medicine will be the topic of the next Omaha Science Cafe
Joseph Siu, an associate professor of physical therapy education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will discuss the use of virtual reality in medical training and research. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 5 at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.
Siu’s primary research area is in motor control and biomechanics, focusing on the elderly and minorities. He also studies motor learning in human performance using virtual reality technology.
Science Cafes are free educational events sponsored by the university to increase people’s science literacy. They are open to everyone 21 and older. Go to www.unmc.edu/sciencecafe for more information about Science Cafes.
